![]() Kitten's temperSome people choose a kitten by sex, colour and breed. But some do it also by character. Cats basically correspond to our traditional ideas about them. They are gentle and sociable, more or less independent. Sometimes cats are unsociable and even aggressive (they really have their reasons for that). In natural environment, i.e. rural conditions owners of cats pay no attention to their characters, because they are very busy and all cats are similar them. They treat them not as pets, but as cattle. But in urban apartments, we can learn a lot about their character and habits. Of cause we don't want to have an aggressive animal, ready to scratch and bite us at any time. But we also don't want to have an indifferent and unapproachable cat. This cat can be even more dangerous for little children who may not guess that the cat doesn't want to play. Kitten's character may change greatly when it grows older. The same thing is with little children. When they grow older, their character changes radically. Cats, like people in childhood have similar character and temperament, and then their style of behaviour often changes. These changes don't happen at once, but gradually. It can't be noticed momentarily. Sometimes human and cat's character does not change throughout life, but it happens infrequently. After all, character is an alternating quantity; it is just a predisposition to certain standards of conduct. Cats (as well as dogs) have an amazing feature - over time they begin to copy the style and manners their owners. If the owners are quiet by nature, the kitten (cat) will become calm and phlegmatic over time, but may become nervous in presence of other people. If there are people (children) in the house that constantly fondle the kitten, it can become an oppressed or even aggressive animal. Also, there are certain stereotypes concerning the nature and conduct of different breeds of cats. Yes, it is possible to single out some special characteristic or behavioural aspect for a separate breed, but it would not be an accurate information. For example, at home cats spend noticeably more time sleeping, than if they live in the street. But at home they sleep relatively the same number of hours per day. Particularly observant cat owners have revealed some interdependence between cat's nature and colour of its wool! For example, they claim that: The black cats are very nervous, sensitive and curious. They adore endearment and have an increased attention to its own person. Black and white cats are sociable and easy to get in touch with. But they can love seriously only one person. Cats with wild tiger colour are extremely independent animals. They avoid unnecessary contacts not only with people, but also with their wild congeners. You won't be able to take it in your arms this "savage" creature until it wants it. Red cats love peace, domestic cosiness and are usually phlegmatic. White cats are considered to be capricious and resentment. The best way to choose a kitten is according to its temperament. Active and energetic kitten is a healthy kitten. If a kitten is phlegmatic, then it means that it has health problems. If the kitten plays with you willingly and fawns upon you, then it means that you get a tender pet, which is likely to preserve this temper for life. The nature and temperament of kittens are usually formed in the first 12 weeks of life under the influence of communication with its mother, brothers, sisters, and human beings. It is therefore important to know its mother's habits to realize what kind of kitten you are going to take to your house. |
